We are seeking information in relation to the rehabilitation and recovery potential of people with long term mental illness who are accommodated in independent housing, and who receive ongoing individual support from service providers and families.
There is a huge demand for independent housing for persons with ongoing mental illness. Our organisation is addressing this demand through the establishment of independent living units in Melbourne (completion date Sep 2010). Although we are following a Boston University model of care to provide support to the tenants of these new units,we are seeking models that have been developed in Australia which could be easily adapted for our circumstances.
