I would like to see the availability of Statistical information relating to new residents in regional areas to assist community services with providing programs and support with activities and services specific to needs.
Specific information would include:
-number of new residents to a region
-marital status - do they have children with needs
-what type of visas
-employers who sponsor workers to relocate
-skills of additional family members
-languages, and barriers to integration
The access of these statistics would enable not-for-profit and community organisations to assist isolated groups and potential employers. It would also assist with providing information in specific languages other than English for ease in communicating with migrants.
Being able to access current information such as this from Centrelink databases and linking it with immigration would make the provision of specific services in the appropriate areas simpler for community organisations.
