Encourage zero interest loans for government 2.0 projects

Financial organisations can give zero interest loans in a profitable manner provided the government guarantees the deposit made as a result of the loan. The government does not guarantee the loan only the money deposited as a result of the loan. The government can stipulate that it will provide this guarantee for loans to finance infrastructure development that meets government 2.0 objectives. Government agencies, ...more »

White pages data, phone listings.

The White pages(also yellow pages) data should be made available to the general public for use.

It is silly that we have to use a physical book or an online site to get information. This information should be in the public domain / licensed more appropriately in a general format.

Information statute

To facilitate the development of Government 2.0 a national Information Statute is needed to establish the framework within which issues such as standards, definitions, security, silos, location based services, etc, can evolve. This should harmonise the myriad of bottom-up and un-coordinated initiatives which are currently occurring.

Access to records specific to the needs of Not-For-Profits such as Prison Ministry

Records held by the Government such as prisoner information relating to release, re-incarceration etc that could assist a number of different Prison Ministries to improve programing or study their functionallity, is currently almost impossible to access. This info could be made available through channels that could be monitored but would allow these groups to know how they could improve what they do to assist both families ...more »

Feedback for Government Taskforce

This would have to be one of the most user-unfriendly sites I have ever witnessed, and I say/write this as a computer-literate woman with more than two decades of experience.

Text the Govt

We are thinking of using mobile phone SMS technology to communciate with young people about issues that affect them and support young people to pursue civic engagement activities they feel most close to and comfortable with. This service could facilitate conversation amongst young people themselves and young people with the government. It would also serve to direct young people to the relevent places from which they ...more »

Enterprise Business Architecture

There is a need for departments to engage in business architecture in a meaningful way. It's important to understand areas for potential shared value across portfolio domains. The drivers for collaboration that get traction are based on shared business interest.

Patients Medical Records

I am not sure if this idea fits in here or not but here it goes. What about Hospitals, public and private medical centres having access to one portal where they can share, view and access patients medial health records? This will safe time, paper work, the creation of thousands of different databases and money to everyone. I will then be more than happy to go to any GP in Australia knowing they will have my medical ...more »

Mosman Memories of Your Street

Mosman Library run an incredible outreach program and have a fine track record in the online space. They put social networking tools like blogs, flickr and twitter to good use and have developed a standalone site, 'Mosman Memories' which acts as a space for "past and present residents of Mosman to share memories of their street." The site is part of the living history program that is run by the Library, and is in my opinion, ...more »

Stretch Yourself: Computers and Tai Chi

As more and more information is becoming only available online, Government should provide funding for training opportunities for seniors in the use of new technology. An example of this was successfully trialled last year... Stretch Yourself: Computers and Tai Chi A basic computer course for seniors which incorporates Tai Chi - for stretching the body and the mind! If such classes (which could cover any topics ...more »

Scholarships to Gov 2.0 events - building skills across government

It would be great if the Taskforce, or it’s replacement, provided scholarships for ongoing public servants to attend these types of events to increase public sector expertise in the Gov 2.0 space. These scholarships could be for public servants new to the social media space and as part of their terms for participation have them required to maintain a blog and Twitter feed of their experience and provide presentations ...more »

Commercial Government Partnerships for Access, Storage and Release of Data

The NZ government has recently put out a proposal for ideas on a commercial arrangement with industry in the area of identification management. http://www.dia.govt.nz/diawebsite.nsf/wpg_URL/Resource-material-Identity-Verification-Service-Online-identity-services-commercial-relationships?OpenDocument

This concept could be applied to other data and to other areas of government service delivery in the Gov 2.0 space.
