Arts and Creative Industries in Virtual Cities

Most cities use 3D virtual maps to aid in town planning. At the moment these are kept private. There is an opportunity to open this data as virtual environments where artists and those in the creative industries can create virtual public art and experiment with ways of reinterpreting urban space. This can be used as a crowdsourcing tool by planners, as an art space in its own right and if virtual cities are connected ...more »

Please support women and children in Africa who have nothing but want and must have an educaqtion.

Women for Women in Africa Foundation is an incorporated, registered charity, tax-deductible volunteer organisation supporting the Kibera Slum, the biggest and most disadvantaged slum in Africa. Here in Australia there is very little potential support for the education and relief of poverty of the women and children living in slums in Africa such as Kibera. We fight the government when they say we are welfare and not ...more »

Decision Process Database

The decisions of government are often mysterious. It is next to impossible, for instance, to learn the basis of the federal and State and Territory governments' decisions to allow the release upon the public of a certain vaccine or other drug, as to its efficacy, safety, and necessity. Such decisions can easily appear to be based on fourth-hand hearsay and arbitrary consensus and not at all transparent. My proposal ...more »

web based information accessibility

most community support programs (health, aged, disability, youth etc etc) partly (if not totally) government funded. we also have the issue of the community not being aware of programs that can support them, and what is in their local area. make it a funding stipulation that the program needs to detail their services (and keep it up to date and accurate) on a website.

breaches of environmental standards

Create a website where all entities that have been fined for a breach of environmental standards (by any government level and by any court) are listed for a period, say up to 6 month after the fine was imposed or paid. This way they are named and shamed. This method is already working with the NSW Health Authorities where restaurants are fined for hygienic misdemeanors etc. With the non-compliance with planning, environmental ...more »

government funding

we would like to be able to access a list of services that have been funded to our community. we are a rural community with many visiting services from a major regional centre - it is often confusing about who is providing what - so if we could access a government website which lists services funded for our area that would be fantastic. it would also enable us to identify any gaps in service provision which would assist ...more »

Integrating local knowledge with existing Government data to enhance service delivery and planning

The idea of social inclusion as both a descriptor and policy objective has and is becoming an important issue within social democratic states and development literature. In particular, significant work has been undertaken in the United Kingdom, The European Union and more recently Australia. It is Not for Profit (NP) agencies and Non Government Organisations (NGO) who have historically taken the lead in advocating for ...more »

Quick Contact Listing of phone numbers and internet addresses

It is suggested that may Retirees, and others, currently find it frustrating to obtain telephone numbers, especially in an emergency. There are currently at least 20 areas of the phone book containing these numbers. While they are under ‘category headings’ they are still difficult to find - - eg. Bladder and bowel weakness is under ‘National Continence Helpline. While the attached listing may be a submission of ...more »
