Datasets

White pages data, phone listings.

The White pages(also yellow pages) data should be made available to the general public for use.

It is silly that we have to use a physical book or an online site to get information. This information should be in the public domain / licensed more appropriately in a general format.

Patients Medical Records

I am not sure if this idea fits in here or not but here it goes. What about Hospitals, public and private medical centres having access to one portal where they can share, view and access patients medial health records? This will safe time, paper work, the creation of thousands of different databases and money to everyone. I will then be more than happy to go to any GP in Australia knowing they will have my medical ...more »

Where are the gaps, how big are they, and how are they changing over time?

We hear about the gaps between indigenous and non-indigenous health stats, prison stats, job stats...the list goes on...but what do the gaps 'look' like? We see the media footage, we here the politicians, we can read the reports and the research but how can we grasp the geographic spread and the depth of the differences in a single view? Can we give the public the power to build 'maps' from current and projected data ...more »

The McCusker Foundation raises funds for Alzheimer's disease research. Much of our research requires volunteers to participate in the research project. Publication and disclosure of data requires effort (to ensure that the data is 'clean', accurately described ...more »

Calendar - National 'X' Week, National Day of 'Y'

http://australia.gov.au/topics/australian-facts-and-figures/calendars-of-events

As the link above shows, there are plenty of potential contributors to this dataset. hCal markup, ics subscriptions, etc. for any and all government-funded events or occasions of national significance.

Event managers need never schedule a clashing or inappropriately-timed event ever again.

The public inquiry calendar

The APH rss feeds for new Senate Committee Inquiries & upcoming hearings are a good start, but they contain very little information. As a citizen trying to plan my contributions to the policy process, I would find it much more useful to be able to subscribe to a calendar feed which provides the key dates for upcoming & current inquiries (including opening & closing dates for submissions, dates & locations of public hearings, ...more »
